Eisenhower Matrix
The Eisenhower Matrix (also called the Urgent-Important Matrix) is a prioritization framework attributed to President Dwight D. Eisenhower that classifies tasks into four quadrants based on two dimensions: urgency (does this require immediate attention?) and importance (does this contribute to meaningful long-term goals?). The framework's central insight β that urgency and importance are not the same thing, and that the most important tasks are rarely the most urgent β is the foundation of effective time and priority management.
