Minimum Viable Test
A Minimum Viable Test (MVT) is the smallest, cheapest experiment that can validate or invalidate a critical hypothesis before significant resources are committed. Rooted in Lean Startup methodology, MVT distinguishes between the MVT (testing a hypothesis) and the MVP (building a product) — recognising that you can often test whether an idea is worth building without building it, saving enormous amounts of time and money.
Scientific Method
The Scientific Method is the systematic process for building reliable knowledge: observe, form a hypothesis, test it with an experiment designed to disprove it, analyse results, and revise beliefs accordingly. First formalised by Francis Bacon and later by Karl Popper's concept of falsifiability, it remains the most reliable process humans have developed for separating genuine knowledge from intuition, bias, and wishful thinking.
