Two-Way Door decisions are reversible β you can walk through, assess, and return if needed β and should be made quickly with decentralized authority. One-Way Door decisions are irreversible or nearly so, and warrant careful deliberation, broader input, and senior oversight. The critical error most organizations make is applying One-Way Door processes to Two-Way Door decisions, producing unnecessary slowness and risk-aversion.
