Using the .exe? You will see a blue box the first time
The .exe installer is not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen shows a blue box the first time: click “More info”, then “Run anyway”. You only do this once, and the app updates itself after that. The Microsoft Store version does not show this box, and the Store keeps it up to date.

- Nothing else to set up. It opens with a sample library; point it at a folder you already have whenever you are ready — PDFs, EPUBs, Kindle books, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, images and Markdown all work.
