It has a free tier and runs in a browser with nothing to install. That is a real advantage and this page does not argue otherwise.
Can MindMax make audio overviews?
No. If audio overviews are why you use NotebookLM, MindMax does not replace it.
Does MindMax work offline?
Reading, annotating and searching your own documents work locally. AI features need a connection, like any hosted model.
Starting without giving anything up
MindMax opens a folder you already have — no import, no conversion, no second copy of your files. If it does not earn its place, delete the app; your documents and notes are exactly where they were.
