LaTeX to Word
LaTeX in. Word equations out — ones you can still edit.
Type or paste LaTeX maths, see it typeset, export a .docx. Each formula arrives in Word’s own equation format, so whoever opens the file can click into it and change a term.

$$\int_0^1 x^2 \, dx = \frac{1}{3}$$
$$\sum_{i=1}^{n} i = \frac{n(n+1)}{2}$$∫01x2 dx = 13
Σi=1ni = n(n+1)2
From LaTeX to a Word equation in five steps
Open the web editor
Go to mindmax.me/write. Nothing to install, no account.
Paste the maths with its delimiters
Put inline maths between $ and $ and displayed equations between $$ and $$. Maths between \( \) and \[ \], the way AI assistants write it, is converted for you.
Check it typeset
Each equation renders as you type, so a missing brace or a misspelled command is visible straight away, not in Word later.
Add the words around it
Equations can sit in a paragraph, a list or a table, as in any document.
Export Word
Click Export Word at the top right. Every equation lands as a native Word equation.
Why not just paste an image of the formula?
An image looks right on the page, and that is all it does. It cannot be searched, resized cleanly, or corrected without going back to the source.
- A native Word equation can be edited in Word’s equation editor by anyone, including people who have never written LaTeX.
- It scales with the text and prints sharply at any size.
- In a PDF export, the same maths is typeset as text rather than placed as a picture.
What converts
The maths that turns up in coursework, papers and AI answers.
Fractions, roots, powers
\frac, \sqrt, subscripts and superscripts, nested as deep as you like.
Sums and integrals
\sum, \prod, \int with their limits, and the usual operators.
Brackets and functions
Parentheses that grow with their contents, \sin, \log, \lim and the rest.
Symbols
Greek letters, arrows, relations, accents such as \hat and \bar.
Mistakes, visibly
An equation that will not typeset shows as an error in the editor, before you export.
Where it gets hard
- Maths, not whole LaTeX documents
This converts equations. A full .tex file — \documentclass, \section, \cite, a bibliography — is not converted into a Word document. Write the text as ordinary paragraphs and the maths between dollar signs.
- Matrices and multi-line blocks are flattened
A matrix, a cases block or an aligned derivation comes into Word as one line, row after row, not as a Word matrix or aligned steps. Limits on sums and integrals sit beside the symbol rather than above and below it. For a derivation, give each step its own $$ … $$ equation.
- No custom macros
Commands you defined yourself with \newcommand in a preamble are not known here. Expand them before pasting.
- Some packages have no equivalent
Drawing packages such as TikZ, and specialised notation packages, are not supported. Standard maths typesets; the unusual corners of LaTeX may not.
- The document lives in this browser
Nothing is uploaded. Clearing site data or switching browsers means it is not there — export what you want to keep.
Common questions
How do I convert a LaTeX equation into a Word equation?
Open mindmax.me/write, paste the equation between $$ and $$, and click Export Word. The .docx contains it as a native Word equation, editable in Word’s equation editor.
Are the equations images?
No. They are Word’s own equation objects (Office Math), so they can be edited, copied and searched in Word.
Can I convert a whole .tex file?
No. This converts the maths, not LaTeX document structure. Paste the text and equations, with equations between dollar signs, and export.
Does it work with equations from ChatGPT or DeepSeek?
Yes. Their \( \) and \[ \] delimiters are converted when you paste, whether you copy with the copy button or select the rendered answer.
Is it free?
Yes, with no account and no watermark. The conversion happens in your browser.
Write it in LaTeX. Send it as a Word equation.
Free, no account, no watermark. Converted in your browser.
